Thoughts on Adventureland and Record Store Day

I don't have a review in me right now, so I'll just discuss my day. Today was national Record Store Day. It was fantastic, I got a chance to see Lawrence Arms and Dissappears play live shows at Reckless Records, a place in downtown Chicago. Both bands played pretty great shows, and a record store was a fantastic setting. I managed to pick up a few records, another addition to my quest for the White Stripes vinyl discography, Bon Iver's full album, and some Godspeed You! Black Emperor, so my day was quite successful.

Then I saw Adventureland. I loved it, thought it had substance, heart, and characters so interesting that I didn't want the movie to end. However, they advertised this movie all wrong. It wasn't a teen comedy from the apatow vein like all the commercials led you to believe, but more of a mix between garden state and the 80's in general.

So yeah, good weekend so far.
